Further down the coast than the Costa Brava, or Costa Daurada in Spanish, this is still a part of Catalonia and lies between Cunit and Alcanar on the Mediterranean Sea. This is all within the Province of Tarragona, the capital, and in English it means “Golden Coast” which we think is very apt for camping and mobile home holidays next to golden sandy beaches.

It should come as no surprise to most people that the Costa Dorada is one of the most popular destinations on the Mediterranean. This is a popular holiday destination which has much to offer, from a wide range of leisure activities, culture and natural history – and all within the most beautiful of settings.

It is home to one of Europe's largest theme parks, PortAventura, as well as Aquapolis, the splash-tastic water park. When it comes to the choosing the right holiday resort in Costa Dorada for you then we can recommend quite a number with some of the cleanest and safest environmentally best managed beaches offer a more peaceful location.

The region’s past is most prominent around the capital, Tarragona, where you will see Roman remains scattered throughout the Old Town and also around the outskirts.

Tarragona is sat on a rocky hill with amazing views of the sea and inland as well, and all the historical, and other, sites are all within walking distance and seeing them you may wonder what this coast was like 2,000 years ago, well before it was commercialised.

If you flew to your mobile home holiday on the Costa Dorada coast you would no doubt have used Barcelona Airport and if you have time on your return you may be able to grab a couple of hours in that city. Barcelona, by the way is the capital of Catalonia and it is here that you will best become acquainted with the people, the food and the culture of the Costa Dorada and the whole region.
