Whenever possible we encourage self drive holidays because you can take so much more with you, but in the case of most Italian campsites we acknowledge that it is a fair old trek by car, though not a deal further than camping in the South of France.
The 4* Camping Sant' Angelo Village not a million miles away from Venice is a lively site with a great pool complex and exciting on site activites. A major plus for this site is that there is direct access to the nearby beach which has a great selection of watersports and sporting competitions. Cavillino is also just a short walk from site.

Sant'Angelo Village is an exciting, active campsite with lots to keep the whole family happy. Just a short walk from site is the lively resort of Cavallino, where you’ll find a great selection of bars and restaurants, perfect for sampling some authentic Italian food. There is also direct access to the beach, where you can try your hand at water sports and even sailing lessons. From here, you can also explore some great cycle routes along the coast.
The site has an amazing pool complex, complete with heated children’s pool, two super and three smaller water slides. Adults and children will both love the busy entertainment programme, which includes sports competitions and pool activities throughout the day. And in the evening why not enjoy a relaxing drink at the poolside bar.
Sant' Angelo's location is undoubtedly heaven sent with an immaculately kept forest and a fragrant rose garden flanking the famous Lido sands.

Venice, 33 miles - 6 miles from park to Punta Sabbioni boat station – bus travel available. One of the most photographed places in Europe. Napoleon dubbed it the ‘finest drawing room in Europe’, and visitors and pigeons alike have been flocking there for centuries. The top attraction is the Basilica di San Marco, St Mark’s Basilica which is situated on St Mark’s Square.
There are of course plenty of gondolas offering trips around the city. The gondolas aren’t really used as a form of transport now and are there purely for the tourists
The Rialto Bridge is the largest bridge over the Grand Canal. It is covered with many market stalls and tourist shops selling souvenirs.
Aqualandia, 4 miles - Aqualandia at Lido di Jesolo is one of Italy’s largest water parks. The water park normally opens every day from mid May until mid September. It’s a great day out for all the family. Set within tropical Caribbean gardens the water park is home to the largest water slide in the world, at 42m long and reaching speeds of 110kph!!
