Bretignolles sur Mer is slap bang on the west coast of France in the Vendee department of the Pays-de-la-Loire region between St Gilles Croix de Vie and les Sables d'Olonne. It is basically a purpose built tourist resort and is very popular with visitors taking camping and mobile home holidays there.

Quite a few of the beaches around Bretignolles nestle in amongst the rocky coastline, a coastline which contains not only the highest cliffs in the area, but the rocks which form them are quite unusual to look at. You will find that most of the beaches are supervised during the high season.
If surfing is your thing then Bretignolles is the place for you as it has some of the best surfing on this part of the northwest coast, indeed, Bretignolles regularly hosts surfing competitions; the last one being in 2009 was a great success and drew competitors from around the world.
No camping resort worth its salt is without a market at least once a week, and here in Bretignolles there are street markets on Sundays and Thursdays throughout the year and on Mondays and Tuesdays during July and August.
There are many bars and restaurants to enjoy here and the shopping is fine for a town this size but if you want more serious shopping we suggest you pop down the road to les Sables d?Olonne which is only a few KMs away to the south.
We are certain that you will enjoy your camping or mobile home holiday in Bretignolles sur Mer and we feel sure that the pull of the Vendee coast will draw you back some day.
