Camping holiday information for Brem sur Mer, Vendee
Brem sur Mer is a small town in the Vendee department of the Pays de la Loire region of western France and about 1 KM from the beach. It is a tourist resort catering for camping and mobile home holidaymakers and was developed by the joining of two smaller villages called Saint Martin-de-Brem and Saint Nicolas-de-Brem in 1974.
Small it may be but Brem is close to Bretignolles, St Hilaire and St Gilles in one direction and les Sables d'Olonne in the other, which all it an ideal base for camping holidays in the Vend?e.
By road Brem sur Mer is approximately 15 KMs away from les Sables where you can shop till you drop or go to the Zoo there, do anything you like really because les Sables is a larger camping holiday resort than Brem and being so much larger it has so many other things going on such as hosting the Vendee Global Ocean yacht race.
Brem has some rather nice sandy beaches which are supervised in high season, one of which stretches south for about 3 KMs to les Granges near to the Foret d'Olonne, so you will never be short of somewhere to lay your sunbed and parasol.
A few surfers use the beaches here and apparently there have been comments on surf websites that this is an under-rated beach as it has all the breaks that any of the other more popular surfing beaches have, plus easy parking. The beach south towards the beach at Sauveterre is also used by naturists.
When you tire of the water and your sunbed the 10 KM stretch of Foret d'Olonne is well worth exploring as there is all manner of bird and animal life within it, and if you are careful you will no doubt see some of the little red squirrels which are indigenous to the area.
We truly believe that you will fall in love with Brem sur Mer and the surrounding area, and we hope you will return for another camping holiday one day soon.
