4* Camping le Montourey, close to Frejus, Cote d'Azur
From Siblu Holidays UK
The 4* le Montourey campsite is located near to Frejus on the Cote d'Azur, formerly a little fishing village when I (the editor) first went there in the 1960's, is a family campsite with all the trimmings. Frejus, though small, was a significant Mediterranean port town from Roman times, with shops, pedestrian streets, dining and hotels, nice stone cathedral, and large Roman aqueduct.
The campsite has a beautiful swimming pool complex, fun activities for kids and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Well-placed for exploring the area. You're 20 minutes from the beach and the centre of Frejus. Of course you will want to explore Cannes, the Gorges du Verdon and Saint-Tropez as all are within reach. You're sure to have a busy holiday!
Why camping Le Montourey? Well, this campsite is beautifully maintained, with manicured lanes and giant poplar trees. The choice is yours: sun or shade.
The water in the swimming pools glistens like the azure blue sea, which you will find just a few kilometres away. There is a safe children's pool too. Complete with waterslides. Four slides in a row!
Have fun with a game of jeu de boules, or get active on the sports field or tennis court, it's all here. Don't forget to hire a bike as it's pleasant to cycle to the beach and a good way to explore the surrounding area.
The entertainment team organises lots of activities for the children and at night its time for 'musique et danse' on stage!
Beaches? You have a choice here at Frejus as there are 3 sandy beaches: Port Frejus (3km), Republique (4km) and La Base Nature (5km). There's also a heavenly beach just a few kilometers further away, namely Plage Saint-Aygulf.
In the centre of Frejus you will find many ancient Roman sites. The Arena, the Aquaduct and the Amphitheatre for example. It is also a pleasant town to stroll around with lots of shops, quaint streets and a stunning marina.
Picturesque Saint-Tropez, chic Nice, flamboyant Cannes... these are the favourite holiday hideways of the rich. Good chance of bumping into a movie star here!
The natural wonder of this region is the Gorges du Verdon. It's quite a drive (about 1.5 hours) but well worth worth it. A canoe trip between steep carved rock walls is probably the most beautiful one you could ever experience.
Fun for kids: Aqualand, a dizzying water park in Frejus with probably one of the best waterslides in the area.
The top campsites from Siblu always need to be suitable for the whole family. That's why we select campsites with facilities like a swimming pool with separate children's pool, waterslides, children's playground, restaurant and professional entertainment. That way everyone has the time of their life!
