Frejus has grown up over the decades since I (Editor) first went there in the mid 1960s when it was really just a village/very small town, but even all that time ago there were ample facilities for camping holidays, though there were no mobile homes then.

Nowadays Frejus and the next door town of St Raphael have grown together and it is difficult to know exactly where one finishes and the other starts.

Both towns have sea access and the beaches at Frejus are just what the doctor ordered for camping holidays and they face the small Golfe de Frejus which is part of the Mediterranean Sea.

Frejus beachThere aren't many fish in this part of the sea nowadays but there are lots of different water sports for you to have a go at, and the sun is nice and hot if all you want to do is lie on a lounger and get a tan.

A church in FrejusWe seriously recommend that you take plenty of high factor sun cream with you, and we stress take with you because shop prices here on the Cote d'Azur can be hideous, so please take a tip and take with you everything you may need rather than have to buy it once you?re there.

That does not mean your camping holidays will be expensive in any way as they cost just the same as they would anywhere else in France; it is just that this part of the country has a high cost of living, due in part to the film stars and celebrities who have homes here and yachts in the harbours from here and along the coast right up to the Italian border.

You will love your camping holidays in the Frejus area and if you're so inclined you can take a day out to Cannes, Nice or Monaco to go 'celebrity' watching.
