No wonder camping holidays are so popular here in Canadel; this place is simply beautiful and can be appreciated by all ages. Just to clear up one point about the name first though. The proper name for this town is Rayol-Canadel-ser-Mer because it comprises of two small villages: Le Rayol and Canadel in the Var department of the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region of southern France.
Now we have that out of the way we can tell you that Canadel is roughly 200 metres from the Mediterranean Sea and facing the Cornich des Maures which is what that part of the Med is called.
We can tell you that as well as being a popular camping holiday resort the Domaine du Rayol part of the town has no less than 11 beautiful public gardens which are open the year round and contain plants from around the world. Certainly this is something which you may like to wander round and take a look at.
If you can tear yourselves away from your sunbeds then the famous resort of St Tropez is but a short drive away, and this has always been one of the Mecca's for film stars and major celebrities, most of whom have houses at the top of the town.
Camping holidays here in Canadel are likely to be laid back affairs, and when the sun comes out hot at around 7 am nobody really wants to do much other than lounge around on a sunbed or take a swim in the sea.
