The town faces the Atlantic and lies roughly 2/3rds of the way down the west coast of the Cherbourg peninsular. Apart from its other virtues St Pair has been a favourite for British holidaymakers for camping holidays for many years now.
St Pair has some lovely beaches and a collection of shops, bars and restaurants where the food is rated as excellent. There is also the obligatory market which camping holidaymakers adore held once a week in the town car park.
The local history needs to be explored, and one of the biggest historical visitor sites is the Gothic abbey at le Mont-St-Michel which has stood there for over 1000 years and today is one of the most visited tourist attractions outside of Paris. Le Mont is roughly 13 miles from your camping resort of St Pair.
In July and August there is also a night-time tour, with music, light and sound, but take care with your money here because entrance and parking fees can be extortionate.
Coutances Cathedral is one of the major examples of Norman architecture and contains a chapel and stained glass dedicated to Saint Marcouf. The cathedral, dubbed The Bastille, is roughly 17 miles away from St Pair and is now the town hall, but rooms within house a great deal of history which is available to visitors.
Further afield are the towns/cities of St Malo, the walled ferry port on which you can walk around the city, and Dinan which is so steeped in history it would take more than one day to absorb it all properly.
We are so sure that you will enjoy your camping holiday her in St Pair sur Mer that you will want to return one day soon.
