Camping le Fanal, Isigny sur Mer, Normandy
This 4* campsite opens in early April until early September, and at the bottom of this page we have listed the numerous activities available at Camping le Fanal as well as the best methods of getting there by plane, train or ferry.
With its 4 star rating, Camping le Fanal is the perfect getaway for families looking for a base to explore the Normandy area. Isigny sur Mer is not exactly “sur Mer” these days, but it is only a few miles off.
The site is well maintained and there’s an abundance of activities to choose from, including a children’s club and evening entertainment in high season. There is also a wonderful pool complex with a covered pool, outdoor pool and water slides.
The famous Normandy Landing beaches are only seven miles away from the campsite. There are memorials all along the coastline and history buffs can visit the many museums to learn more about the events of 1944.
Mont Saint-Michel is one of France’s most iconic attractions: this stunning medieval walled city, crowned by its gothic abbey, is built on a small granite outcrop standing all by itself in the flats of the estuary of the River Couesnon. Walk along the ramparts to immerse yourself in the history of its walls.
Bayeux, just a few miles to the east of Isigny, has a fantastic historic centre as well as its world-famous, UNESCO-listed tapestry depicting the Norman conquest of England in 1066.
