Camping holidays in and around Serignan-Plage, Languedoc-Roussillon

Nearest port; Bilbao - 643km or 402 miles; Caen - 936 or 585 miles: Nearest airport; Beziers - 16km

Personally, I (the Editor) have never ever heard anyone make a disparaging remark about a holiday they have returned from in the Languedoc region of southern France. Everyone I have known has had a really, seriously good camping holiday there, but if there is to be a downside it is the distance between the northern French ports and the Languedoc.

This all applies to the tiny little camping resort of Serignan Plage which nestles on the Mediterranean coast below Beziers, a very lively city which has the distinction of being the wine capital of Languedoc.

Beach at Serignan PlageThis of course, makes a great venue for letting off steam and seeing some nightlife during your camping holiday in Serignan Plage.

But what does Serignan Plage offer the visitor? Well for a start the beaches are longer than you would wish to walk on a holiday, and they are sheer perfection; fine golden sand facing the naturally azure blue of the Med.

At this point it is worth mentioning that the beaches in the whole region are controlled by their various local councils who try to outdo each other with the cleanliness of their beaches and the part of the sea they face.

Sunbathing is another pastime hereabouts, and you will see people bringing their camping umbrellas onto the beach where they stay until the dinner table beckons.Naturist beach at Serignan Plage

Water sports are on offer here too, though there is no surfing as such because the Med doesn't provide high enough waves.

If you are short of something to do one day then you could pop round to the headland of le Cap-d'Agde which is clearly visible from your camping resort, and you can spend a day in the Naturist town there. Now when I say Naturist town I mean that there is a whole town there where clothes are banned (unless it's cold) but I'm sure they'll let you in for the day if you pose nicely.

We are 100% certain that you will love your camping holiday at Serignan Plage so much that when you return home all tanned you will be planning for the next time.
