Marseillan Plage is a wonderful camping resort venue for both families and couples alike. There is a great deal going on in this town; far more than one would expect just by looking at a map!
For starters, Marseillan Plage has a great position with a superb 6 KM long golden beach facing the warm turquoise water of the Mediterranean Sea, a paradise for swimmers young or old who can frolic around in total safety.
This is an absolute haven for camping holidaymakers who can enjoy a variety of water sports off the beach, or just lie there on a sunbed getting a fabulous Mediterranean tan which will be the envy of all your neighbours when you return home.
To the rear of your camping resort lies a vast inland saltwater lake called the Bassin de Thau which is famous for farming shellfish, an art which has been constantly developed over centuries, and thanks to its direct access to the sea, the Thau basin provides shelter for several fish varieties - sea- bream, wolf-fish and mullet.
There are lots of things for you to see and do on your camping holiday in Marseillan Plage; for instance, a visit to the naturist town on le Cap d'Adge where (unless it's cold) clothes are banned. OK, it was just a thought.
Built in volcanic stone and known the black pearl of the Herault, the city of Agde is a former Greek trading centre which has retained a rich archaeological inheritance.
A multicolour mosaic of life, this town is mixture of highly varied communities, hence the accent on naturism we suspect.
You could visit Beziers which is roughly 30 mins away by car, and there you will be able to cast around for history as this town/city was occupied by the Romans a couple of thousand years ago, and indeed, it was founded well before that time.
Beziers is the 'wine capital' of the Languedoc region, and it also hosts the famous Feria de Beziers, centred around bullfighting, every August. A million visitors are attracted to the five-day event. Not my cup of tea but the 'sport' certainly has its fans.
Quite a lot of people who take camping holidays in places such as Marseillan Plage like a spot of fun and some nightlife, and this town can supply some of what you want in the Leisure Zone there.
ENTREE GRATUITE (Free admission) is an open air musical style bar which has foam evenings, performing artists, fire eaters and juggling barmen. The bar is open from 11.00 p.m. during July and August. Tel: + 33 (0) 4 67 37 59 52
KRY'S CLUB: is a discotheque in the Leisure Zone for over 25?s which is open Friday and Saturday from 11.00 p.m. all year round. Its "Dar Jana" night-time restaurant welcomes you Friday and Saturdays from 10.00 p.m. 22h00. Tel: + 33 (0) 4 67 37 59 52
LE CASSIOPEE : foam evenings and theme evenings- Open from May onwards.

There are several other attractions open between mid June and mid September such as carnival evenings, fireworks, promotional evenings and lots of surprises!
All in all we think that Marseillan Plage is a pretty good place for a camping holiday, and we also think that once you have been there you will want to book again!
