La Trinite-sur-Mer lies on the southern Brittany coast right next to Carnac Plage and the bustling little town of Carnac itself. The visitor is hard put to distinguish between these towns as over time they have virtually grown into one.
This is a recognised and popular camping area with plenty to do for all ages, and one of the "must see" here is to go round the Alignments, those ancient stones placed here some thousands of years ago for whatever reason.
One of the best way of seeing these imposing stones is to jump on one of the Little Trains which are both cheap and educational as you will have a running commentary in both French and English. The beaches of la Trinite are good but they are littered with huge boulders now and then just as most of the other beaches are in this region.
Close by is the Quiberon Peninsular which, when you get there you will either love or hate. Personally I hate the place as a camping holiday resort because right in the midst of the campsites is a noisy but very active private airport.
La Trinite is very accessible from the northern French ports of Roscoff, St Malo and Caen, and there is nowhere in Brittany which is a really long journey from any of them.
Shopping is good in both Lorient to the west and Vannes to the north east but if you visit either you can make life easier for yourself if you get a Park and Ride for the day. One thing about the P&R system in France is that they are cheap and a day in one of them is roughly equal to paying for 2 hours parking in your local car park back home.
