Benodet has been a major player in the camping and mobile home holiday and leisure business for many, many years now, and situated as it is right on the coast in southern Finistere in Brittany and facing the Atlantic Ocean at the north end of the Bay of Biscay.

Benodet is due south of Quimper, the largest town in the area, and it lies at the mouth of the river Odet from whence the town got its name (Ben Odet).

The town has a wonderful location with a sandy beach and a large harbour, the surrounding countryside offering many activities too, and from Benodet you can enjoy kite surfing, windsurfing and canoeing to name a few of the water based activities, but we must mention that a cruise on the river Odet is absolutely superb!

Breton market stallThe summer climate in this area is pretty good and certainly better than the south of England, and this makes it an ideal venue for camping and mobile home holidays, and if you like walking and/or cycling then this place is also ideal for those too.

Benodet also has a famous cultural and maritime heritage in that it has museums, local regattas such as the Rendez-vous de la Belle Plaisance. There is a host of local programmes and festivities involving artists from around the area.

Bay of BenodetMost events in the town take place during the summer due to the town's bustling summer season. In May, the Odet yacht club runs the Obelix Trophy, a sailing race with about 100 boats taking part over 4 days. Every year the town runs a series of music concerts every Friday evening and every Monday there is a market in the town centre.

You will most certainly enjoy your camping holiday in and around Benodet, and like many others you will most probably want to return.
