Arzano, in Finisterre, Brittany nestles in the countryside just a few KMs to the east of Quimperl, and roughly 10 KMs north of Lorient. Arzano is a quiet little place away from the general hustle and bustle normally associated with camping holiday resorts.
That is true of the town/village of Arzano but we are assured that the camping sites there provide all the necessary attractions to keep young people and teenagers busy and happy for the duration of their stay.
Most of the campsites around Arzano are close to the banks of the River Elle in rural Brittany about a 20 minute drive from the beaches at Le Pouldu. The Elle flows into the River Scorff which in turn flows through the heart of Lorient and into the sea.
We haven't checked out the viability of this, but it is theoretically possible to float down the river from your campsite and into the sea somewhere near Larmor-Plage and Port-Louis.
The area supports activities such as canoeing, kayaking, pony trekking, horse riding and rock climbing, so all in all the 'quiet' camping resort of Arzano become a hive of activity for those with the energy to spare.
