Camping Grande Terre, on the River Ardeche
Located in the heart of the Ardèche Gorges, the 3* Camping Grand'Terre is a picturesque site that’s ideal for active holidaymakers, set as it is near the charming towns of Ruoms and Vallon Pont d’Arc. The Ardèche River is just 200 metres from the campsite, where you can swim, fish or just relax on the banks.
La Grand Terre has its own, private beach on the river where you can swim to your heart’s delight and it is a great campsite for active families as there is plenty to do for all ages!
Camping Grand'Terre is a great base for exploring this unique and stunning area. The campsite has partnered with a local company to offer canoe and kayak trips of the Ardèche Gorges, including departures from the campsite beach. Other action-packed activities include bike hire, tennis courts, sports tournaments and a children’s club in high season.
There’s also evening entertainment and a great swimming pool if you want to relax from all your outdoor adventures.

Round and about
Explore the nearby medieval town
of Ruoms, with its castle surrounded by ramparts. There are also loads of
outdoor activities available such as climbing, canyoning and boat trips. Take a
spectacular drive through the Gorges de l’Ardèche from Pont d’Arc to St Martin.
See the oldest and best preserved figurative cave paintings in the world at the
Caverne du Pont d’Arc or visit the Pont du Gard, an outstanding Roman aqueduct
and bridge spanning the Gardon valley.
The campsite organises various exciting excursions, such as canoe trips on the Ardèche River, where you actually sail under the Pont d’Arc! A truly unique experience! Why not take a tour with the whole family through the Cocalière caves, one of France’s most well-known sights. During the one-hour tour along a safe route, you will be amazed by the unique rock formations and groups of stalagmites and stalactites! Also, highly recommended is a drive along the Gorges de l’Ardèche, where you can admire the stunning, rocky scenery!
